CRE Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. announces that the first WTE project developed by the private groups as Green Star Co., Ltd – CRE Co. Ltd (Green Star CRE Energy Plant – GCEP) is expected to come into operation in August 2022 in Bac Ninh province.
According to the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper, Bac Ninh is one of the leading provinces with large industrial zones and various craft villages in the North. As a result, the rapid increase of wastes and their diverse components is always a pressing matter for the locality in particular and the government in general. Faced with the above-mentioned situation, the arrival of GCEP waste-to-energy plant will be a solution to support the treatment ability of both industrial and municipal waste, reducing the stagnant waste in almost full landfills.
GCEP is located in the complex of industrial and municipal waste treatment to energy area in Bac Ninh. The project investment policy was approved by Bac Ninh PPC in 2017 with the total area of over 4 hectares and the total investment capital of over VND 500 billion.
GCEP waste-to-energy plant is contributed by 2 companies: Green Star Co., Ltd (Vietnam) and Chosun Refractories ENG Co.,Ltd (Korea). CRE Vietnam is the EPC contractor of GCEP project. The project construction has been commenced in 2020 and its items have been completed. GCEP has been come into commissioning from January 2022.
GCEP uses the technology of rotary kiln combining with stoker furnace from Korea in compliance with Vietnamese law on environment. The plant is scheduled to provide a waste treatment capacity of up to 180 tons/day – night and an electricity capacity of 6.1MW, ensuring the number of operating days of 330 days/year. The plant’s output power will be used mainly for the plant itself and the remaining electricity will be generated to the national grid.
With the methodical investment and the highly specialized architects ‘careful deliberation, the plant offers a good prospect of making an important contribution to the waste disposal problems of Bac Ninh and neighboring regions. The project will concurrently support the development of waste-to-energy industry and become a representative with highly positive influence on the current trend of circular economy growth.
